Google TLDs Continue to Develop

Google Registry plans to launch .dev on January 16, 2019. The launch will follow the same guidelines as their recent launches of .app and .page. Google added .dev to the HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) preload list, which means that secure connections (SSL certificates) will be required for live sites. The use of HSTS requires registrants to take steps to configure HTTPS for their domains in order for them to work in all major browsers. With the exception of these security requirements, the TLD will be a regular, open TLD that is open to all interested applicants. The launch begins with a Sunrise Phase on January 16 16, 2019, which will run through February 19, 2019. Domains will enter General Availability on February 28, 2018, with a 9 day Early Access Program to start. Please note, this EAP phase runs 2 days longer than previous Google launches. Launch Details for .INC Start to Form

Intercap Holdings Inc. announced plans to launch the .inc gTLD at the beginning of 2019. A sunrise phase for trademark holders begins on January 16, 2019, and will run through February 20, 2019. Domains during the sunrise phase are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The registry does not intend placing any additional restrictions on domains for this TLD. There will be no reserved or premium distinctions for .inc domains. General Availability starts on February 20, 2019, and includes a 7 day Early Access Period for priority registration.
