{"id":1011,"date":"2011-06-29T17:23:35","date_gmt":"2011-06-29T21:23:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.domainandtrademark.com\/?p=1011"},"modified":"2019-08-09T09:09:25","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T13:09:25","slug":"property-firm-proactively-defends-its-trademark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cscdbs.com\/blog\/property-firm-proactively-defends-its-trademark\/","title":{"rendered":"Property firm proactively defends its trademark"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A property investment firm has acquired six <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domain-name-management.html\">domain names<\/a> from cybersquatters in the last 12 months, as it continues to protect its major <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/trademark-searching.html\">trademark<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>HomeVestors, which holds the legal rights to the trademark We Buy Ugly Houses, said it has pursued an &#8220;aggressive&#8221; stance against cyber- and typosquatting.<\/p>\n<p>The firm said it is in the process of taking over several more domain names which are seen to be derivatives of the We Buy Ugly Houses trademark.<\/p>\n<p>Some ten other websites and unauthorized <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/additional-domain-and-trademark-services.html\">social media<\/a> accounts have also been deactivated over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>HomeVestors co-president David Hicks commented that the firm has spent a great deal of time and money building its brand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is very important for us to maintain the strength of that brand for the benefit of our company and our franchisees,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will continue to pursue those who would infringe upon our trademarks in the interest of hijacking our customers or discrediting our hard-earned reputation.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A property investment firm has acquired six domain names from cybersquatters in the last 12 months, as it continues to protect its major trademark.
