Global pop icon Lady Gaga has launched a trademark<\/a> infringement<\/a> lawsuit against a jewelry company.<\/p>\n

The Grammy Award winner \u2013 real name Stefani Germanotta \u2013 is suing Excite Worldwide, LLC in New York, after the company allegedly tried to profit from her brand.<\/p>\n

According to the lawsuit, the company applied without her permission to trademark the names Lady Gaga and Lady Gaga LG for a make-up and jewelry range.<\/p>\n

Lady Gaga \u2013 who burst onto the scene in 2008 has released two hit albums – is said to be in the process of developing her own range of products.<\/p>\n

The singer has already registered her name for clothes, ringtones, her website and chat rooms.<\/p>\n

In addition, a trademark is pending for hair, body and nail products.<\/p>\n
