SPOTLIGHT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

.KW<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kuwait domain registry has announced the availability of top-level .KW domain registrations for the first time. This launch will take place between September 2024 and September 2025, beginning with a 6-month long Sunrise period. Applications during Sunrise will require a matching trademark and will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis. International trademarks are welcome, no local presence in Kuwait will be required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Identity Digital Premium Name Release<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Identity Digital has announced the release of previously-reserved platinum domains to \u201cbuy it now\u201d premium price tiers. Domains included in this release will become available on November 20, 2024. Please reach out to your Client Service Partner if you have any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.SK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SK Registry will start releasing 1-, 2- and 3-character .sk domains for registration from  October 1, 2024. Domain will be released through an auction process with priority phase for trademark holders and with the public auction to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requests for priority phase will require signed documentation and private auction will take place if there are multiple applicants for the same name during this phase. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public auction names will be added to the auction in groups on a monthly basis and the first group of names will be available from November 15, 2024.The names participating in the first public auction group will be determined based on the results of the priority phase.  The registry will be providing more information closer to the auction dates. Please reach out to your Client Server Partner if you have any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.SS, CO.SS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The South Sudan domain registry, ssNIC, recently announced a launch schedule for its top-level .SS extension along with CO.SS. Currently, the registry is only accepting registration applications from entities with corresponding trademarks (local or international) during the Sunrise phase. Additionally, the South Sudan sub-extensions of BIZ.SS, COM.SS, ME.SS, and NET.SS are also now supported for registration via CSC. All South Sudan extensions are unrestricted. No local presence is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.VE Top-Level Now Available<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Venezuelan domain registry, NIC.VE, recently announced the availability of top-level .VE domain registrations for the first time, with immediate effect. Currently, the registry is only accepting registration applications from corporate registrants who own a corresponding trademark on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.AD Liberalization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Andorra Telecom registry has announced that they are launching a liberalization program to release restrictions on .AD domains. Registrants who are not Andorran Public Institutions or Trademarks\/Trade name holders will now be able to register .AD domains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program will be launched in 4 phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Sunrise Phase (22-May-2024 to 16-Oct-2024): Only open to Andorra Public Institutions and Trademarks\/Trade name holders registered before 22-May-24.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Limited Availability (22-May-2024 to 16-Oct-2024): Open to registrants having some prior rights to register names matching those rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Rights in priority order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1.       Corporate names for Andorran legal entities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2.       Foreign Trademarks registered before 22-May-2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3.       Names of individuals being citizens or residents in Andorra<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4.       Names matching domain names in other TLDs registered before 22-May-2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
