{"id":1388,"date":"2011-11-18T08:19:27","date_gmt":"2011-11-18T12:19:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.domainandtrademark.com\/?p=1388"},"modified":"2019-08-09T09:06:48","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T13:06:48","slug":"change-will-allow-firms-to-secure-multiyear-uk-domains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cscdbs.com\/blog\/change-will-allow-firms-to-secure-multiyear-uk-domains\/","title":{"rendered":"Change &#8216;will allow firms to secure multiyear .uk domains&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Companies looking to secure .uk <a title=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domain-name-management.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domain-name-management.html\">domain  names<\/a> for longer periods may benefit from new rules introduced by the  non-profit-making organization in charge of the .uk internet  infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Nominet has announced that multi-year registration will  be launched from May 1st 2012 and offer a greater array of choices for  registrants.<\/p>\n<p>It is also expected that this change will allow consumers  and businesses to obtain more flexible packages when securing a .uk domain  names.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was made following a consultation by\u00a0Nominet, during  which both\u00a0member companies and the domain name community provided their views  on how these changes should be implemented.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The consultation showed  that the majority of the registrar community supported its introduction,&#8221; it  explained.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Nominet&#8217;s annual report showed that the  demand for .uk domain names is at its highest pace ever and has become the  world&#8217;s second-largest country code registry, with nine million domains in  existence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Companies looking to secure .uk domain names for longer periods may benefit from new rules introduced by the non-profit-making organization in charge of the .uk internet infrastructure.
