Design firm Methodics has secured the rights to the domain name<\/a> methodics.com following intervention from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).<\/p>\n

The previous owner of the domain<\/a> was given ten days to hand over the web address, which will now be used to support Methodics’ main website.<\/p>\n

WIPO determined that the defendant registered and used the disputed domain name in bad faith, and as such, should be transferred to Methodics.<\/p>\n

The company sought the rights to the name following a series of malicious and misleading posts on the domain address by the cybersquatter.<\/p>\n

Messages reporting that Methodics had gone out of business were posted, along with links to a competitor’s website.<\/p>\n

“We are satisfied and vindicated that the issue has been resolved in a fair way and we no longer have to deal with this silly distraction,” said Simon Butler, chief executive of the company.<\/p>\n
