The domain name<\/a> Location.com has changed hands in a major domain name transaction, it has been reported.<\/p>\n

eReal Estate Holdings, which already owns and operates Condo.com, Houses.com, and Property.com, has purchased the web address.<\/p>\n

The firm has added the domain name to its expanding portfolio “to support the growing local search market for people, events and deals online”.<\/p>\n

Richard Swerdlow, chief executive of eReal Estate Holdings, said the purchase made “perfect sense” for the company.<\/p>\n

“We are able to leverage our location database, advertising platform, management team and other intellectual property to expand into the broader location-based search market beyond our core focus in the real estate space,” he stated.<\/p>\n

“We hope to secure market share in the broad local advertising market through the use of our platform and category domain<\/a> expertise.”<\/p>\n

It is not clear how much the firm has paid for the domain name, but the transaction is unlikely to challenge the all-time record \u2013 the $16 million paid for Insure.com in 2009.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
