A New York designer is attempting to trademark<\/a> Blue Ivy, the name of Jay-Z and Beyonce’s newborn daughter.<\/p>\n

Joseph Mbeh filed an application for Blue Ivy Carter NYC with the US Patent and Trademark Office on January 11, 2012.<\/p>\n

This was just four days after former Destiny’s Child singer Beyonce gave birth to her first child.<\/p>\n

A report in the Smoking Gun suggests the trademark application was made without the knowledge or consent of the two urban music stars.<\/p>\n

The application is said to cover infant, toddler and junior clothing, such as dresses and skirts, and includes a potential logo design.<\/p>\n

It claims Mr. Mbeh began using the name on January 9th 2012, just two days after the birth.<\/p>\n
