{"id":1700,"date":"2012-01-27T14:31:34","date_gmt":"2012-01-27T18:31:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.domainandtrademark.com\/?p=1700"},"modified":"2019-08-09T09:05:38","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T13:05:38","slug":"icann-urges-gtld-applicants-to-meet-registration-deadline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cscdbs.com\/blog\/icann-urges-gtld-applicants-to-meet-registration-deadline\/","title":{"rendered":"ICANN urges gTLD applicants to meet registration deadline"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Businesses and organizations planning to apply for a generic top level <a title=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domain-name-management.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domain-name-management.html\">domain  name<\/a> (gTLD) need to bear two deadlines in mind.<\/p>\n<p>The 90-day application period for <a title=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/newgtlds.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/newgtlds.html\">new gTLDs<\/a> closes on April 12th 2012, after which the Internet Corporation for Assigned  Names and Numbers (<a title=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domain-name-management.html\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domain-name-management.html\">ICANN<\/a>)  will welcome no new entries.<\/p>\n<p>However, parties working towards submitting a late application need to ensure  they have registered with ICANN by an earlier deadline.<\/p>\n<p>All parties seeking to make a gTLD application need to register with the  corporation by March 29th, two weeks before the three-month window closes.<\/p>\n<p>ICANN said this date is &#8220;important&#8221; as there are &#8220;various processing  requirements&#8221; both in the TLD Application System and the automated clearing  houses that enable international financial transactions.<\/p>\n<p>After April 2012, ICANN will focus on processing and evaluating the  applications received.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Businesses and organizations planning to apply for a generic top level domain name (gTLD) need to bear two deadlines in mind.
