{"id":2722,"date":"2012-07-20T13:23:28","date_gmt":"2012-07-20T17:23:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.domainandtrademark.com\/?p=2722"},"modified":"2019-08-09T09:03:41","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T13:03:41","slug":"social-media-on-the-rise-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cscdbs.com\/blog\/social-media-on-the-rise-in-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Social media &#8216;on the rise in China&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Businesses and individuals around the world are now recognizing the value of networking over the Internet and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/additional-domain-and-trademark-services.html\">social media<\/a>, it has been suggested.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting for BBC Radio 4, Duncan Hewitt explained that social media usage is on the rise in some countries where freedom of expression has traditionally been restricted.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that in China, more than 300 million people have now signed up for Sina Weibo.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Hewitt describes the website as being &#8220;China&#8217;s version of Twitter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said the service is allowing for a greater exchange of ideas and opinions among Chinese citizens, businesses and organizations on the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The service is helping groups to form and civil society to flourish,&#8221; Mr. Hewitt noted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is also heralding a new wave of self-expression in a society where it&#8211;at least in public&#8211;has traditionally been dangerous and unusual.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Businesses and individuals around the world are now recognizing the value of networking over the Internet and social media, it has been suggested.
