{"id":2750,"date":"2012-08-06T11:06:42","date_gmt":"2012-08-06T15:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.domainandtrademark.com\/?p=2750"},"modified":"2019-08-09T09:02:29","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T13:02:29","slug":"new-register-for-gac-advice-to-icann-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cscdbs.com\/blog\/new-register-for-gac-advice-to-icann-board\/","title":{"rendered":"New register for GAC advice to ICANN board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers&#8217; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domain-name-management.html\">ICANN<\/a>) board is to benefit from an online register of Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) advice.<\/p>\n<p>Designed to track original advice, responses from the board, action items, dates of action, implementation plans and status of completion, the register is arranged alphabetically by topic.<\/p>\n<p>The GAC is made up of national governments, governmental organizations and distinct economies.<\/p>\n<p>It is principal advisor to the ICANN Board on issues of public policy, especially those pertaining to national laws and international agreements.<\/p>\n<p>The online register was launched through the ongoing work of the ICANN board\/GAC Recommendation Implementation Working Group.<\/p>\n<p>It has been aiming to implement one of the recommendations made by the Accountability and Transparency Review Team.<\/p>\n<p>As GAC advice is received, it is entered into the register to go through an assessment phase while actions and implementation plans are determined.<\/p>\n<p>Older pieces of advice issued to ICANN by the GAC are also set to be included on the new register.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers&#8217; (ICANN) board is to benefit from an online register of Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) advice.
