The status of the new generic top-level domain program is to be discussed at the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).<\/p>\n

Taking place between November 6th and 9th in Baku, Azerbaijan, the IGF will also look at how the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ICANN <\/a>is trying to improve its international awareness.<\/p>\n

Chief executive officer at ICANN Fadi Chehade said the meeting will be a “fantastic opportunity to talk further with the broad internet community about our global stakeholder engagement initiatives”.<\/p>\n

He added the scheme is also going to make it easy for the group to work with key organizations in the internet ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Other topics up for discussion are how to successfully deploy Domain Name System Security Extensions<\/a> and country code top-level domain operators.<\/p>\n

Dr Stephen Crocker, chair of the ICANN board, noted the body is looking forward to taking part in the IGF for the seventh year in a row.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
