{"id":3142,"date":"2013-02-19T14:58:30","date_gmt":"2013-02-19T19:58:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.domainandtrademark.com\/?p=3142"},"modified":"2019-08-09T08:54:57","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T12:54:57","slug":"workers-falling-for-phishing-emails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cscdbs.com\/blog\/workers-falling-for-phishing-emails\/","title":{"rendered":"Workers &#8216;falling for #phishing emails&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some 60 per cent of office workers have fallen for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/additional-domain-and-trademark-services.html\">phishing<\/a> messages.<\/p>\n<p>Research by PhishMe has highlighted the scale of the problem, as employees are receiving up to six emails every day.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Brand Protection\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cscglobal.com\/global\/web\/csc\/domains-and-trademarks.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brand protectio<\/a>n is a serious issue for organizations online and so individuals need to be aware of the potential reputational damage that could be caused if cyber criminals get their hands on confidential information.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Higbee, chief technical officer of PhishMe, told SC Magazine that some employees wrongly believe they are not important enough in a firm to be targeted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If the attacker&#8217;s main goal is to simply obtain access to an internal network, they won&#8217;t discriminate. Everyone is a potential target,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>With methods becoming increasingly sophisticated &#8211; including scams based around social networking channels &#8211; employees need to make sure they are cautious when it comes to opening emails they think could be suspicious.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some 60 per cent of office workers have fallen for phishing messages.
