\"Snooki<\/a>Oh my.\u00a0 Both Snooki and \u201cThe Situation\u201d find themselves trademarkless.\u00a0 Makes you wonder if they know what a trademark full search is?<\/p>\n

Nicole Polizzi aka \u201cSnooki\u201d attempted to register her name in August for \u201cbooks, namely printed matter\u201d but found her application was denied on the basis of \u201clikelihood of confusion\u201d by the United States Patent and Trademark office examiner.\u00a0 A trademark was issued in 2004 for a children\u2019s book \u201cAdventures of Snooky\u201d thus blocking her application.<\/p>\n

Mike \u201cThe Situation\u201d Sorrentino, also of \u201cJersey Shore\u201d fame, finds himself blocked as well.\u00a0 He has attempted to trademark \u201cThe Situation\u201d, a reference to his six-pack abs, for a clothing line of shirts, underwear, and other apparel.\u00a0 However, he was denied the trademark because a Tennessee clothing and shoe store beat him to the punch. Yak Shoes Inc. based in Memphis filed for a mark with design back in 2008.<\/p>\n

Moral to the story. Jersey Shore cast members \u2013 call me! I\u2019ll save you lots of money in attorney fees by running a full trademark search.\u00a0 CSC offers a great search \u2013 one that will keep you from finding yourself in a bad “situation” trademark wise.<\/p>\n
