.KE Domains Now Available<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n For the first time ever, .KE (Kenya\u2019s top-level domain) second-level domain names (e.g. yourbrand.ke, or cupca.ke) are available for registration. Previously, only third-level domains were available (e.g. yourbrand.or.ke). The registry is launching .KE domains in 3 phases.\u00a0 The Sunrise Phase is already underway and runs through October 22, 2017.\u00a0 Multiple applications will result in an auction, but not until after the subsequent Landrush Phase, which will be geared towards high-value (premium) domains.\u00a0 Owning a third-level .KE domain is not a prerequisite to register at the second level. Historically, these second-level launches have been very popular with both brand owners and infringers. The domains are shorter, making them more marketable, memorable, and Tweetable.\u00a0 Kenya also represents a top-3 economy in Africa, and is among the fastest growing, globally. Domains will enter General Availability as first-come, first-served on December 23, 2017.
