TorrentReactor.net has won a longstanding trademark dispute with TorrentReactor.com.<\/p>\n

The website launched its bid back in 2008 and filed an official complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in October of last year.<\/p>\n

According to the website, the misuse of TorrentReactor.com was a major infringement of brand rights, rights which the company said it had built up over several years.<\/p>\n

TorrentReactor.com was, until very recently, owned by Craig Pratka, a New York resident who was using the site as a portal to allcontentaccess.com.<\/p>\n

WIPO agreed with TorrentReactor.net that the .com equivalent was being used to mislead Web users and redirect them to a rival site.<\/p>\n

The organization’s arbitration panel said that Pratka was “intentionally attempting to attract Internet users to his website for commercial gain.”<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, WIPO held a global online piracy conference in Paris, France. WIPO’s director-general Francis Gurry said WIPO was hoping to usher in a new era of respect for online intellectual property rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
