The domain name, however, is still awaiting delegation.<\/p>\n<p>Yuriy Honcharuk, director-general of Ukrainian Network Information Center (UNIC), said he is hoping the organization will take control of the administration of the new top level domain name within the next six months.<\/p>\n<p>The UNIC submitted its application to ICANN for the Web address suffix in 2009; however, the application was delayed because the paperwork submitted with the application was incorrectly filled out.<\/p>\n<p>As of today, there are 25 language-specific top level domain names in operation and the Ukraine hopes to be the next to join the group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has reserved the Cyrillic .ykp domain name for use in the Ukraine.
