March 12, 2019 <\/a>marks the 30th<\/sup> anniversary of the creation of the World Wide Web (WWW), CSC takes a look at how the WWW has impacted our daily lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nWWW was not initially designed to support security, because it wasn\u2019t intended\nto be the basis for so much business (the WWW was not originally built for use\nby the general public). But with the heavy reliance on online content for\nconsumer consumption came cyber criminals who aim to disrupt eCommerce for\npolitical and personal gain. Domain name system (DNS) cache poisoning, domain\nhijacking, and email spoofing\u2014as well as distributed denial of service attacks\nand phishing\u2014are rampant. No brand is safe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CSC\nexplains the DNS look up system, and how brands can protect not only\nthemselves, but the WWW at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today,\ncompanies rely heavily on the internet to run their business\u2014through websites\nadvertising their products and services, and through email, telecommunications,\ncustomer chat services, and other network-based services\u2014and security is\nessential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
