CSC Alerts Companies To Increased DNS Hijacking<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

CSC joins the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the UK National Cyber Security Centre, and other leading security organizations\u2014including Cisco\u00ae<\/sup> Talos, FireEye\u00ae<\/sup>, and Akamai\u2014in alerting corporations and the public to the recent widespread, state-sponsored domain name system (DNS) hijacking attacks. The targets of these recent attacks include government, corporate, telecommunication, and infrastructure entities resulting in website and email redirection to collect sensitive information. Launch of .INC Postponed<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The registry for .inc rescheduled their launch originally slated for January 16, 2019. The Sunrise phase for .inc will now begin on March 27, 2019, and run through April 30, 2019. General Availability immediately follows, starting on April 30. The first seven days of General Availability comprise the Early Access Program (EAP). All other launch requirements remain the same. All phases are first come, first serve. For more information, please contact your Client Service Partner.<\/p>\n

XYZ Registry Announces 2 New TLDs<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Two existing TLDs found a new home with XYZ Registry. The registry announced plans for .baby and .monster, which were both recently acquired.<\/p>\n

The .baby TLD is already available for registration, but the registry plans to eliminate registration restrictions and release hundreds of previously reserved names. Changes for .baby are scheduled for April 1, 2019.<\/p>\n

XYZ also acquired .monster, which was previously a .brand and closed to general registrations. An official Sunrise phase for .monster begins on February 18, 2019, and runs through March 20, 2019.  General Availability immediately follows, starting on March 21. The first seven days of General Availability comprise the Early Access Program (EAP).<\/p>\n
