Brexit Has Arrived\nfor .EU Domains<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Kingdom approved a Withdrawal Agreement with the\nEuropean Union in the wake of Brexit. This move took effect at midnight (CET)\non January 31, 2020. As part of the agreement, the UK and EU will enter into a\ntransition period that lasts until the end of the calendar year \u2013 December 31,\n2020. This date may be extended by any future agreements that enter into force.\nDuring the transition period, UK residents may continue to hold and register\n.eu domain names. After the transition period, the .eu registry will commence\ntheir action plan to withdraw and delete domains that remain registered with\nnoncompliant registrant contacts (i.e., UK addresses). The registry has not yet\nannounced updated timelines for withdrawal and deletion. CSC will continue to\nmonitor and communicate registry updates as new information is released. CSC\nremains available to help navigate these changes and maintain compliance with\nthe registry. Please contact your Client Service Partner with any questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TW Registry has recently released\nASCII version of .xn--kpry57d and it is currently going through the Grandfather\nPhase until February 10, 2020 (TPE). During this phase, only the Registrant who\nhas existing ASCII<\/em>.tw can register matching .xn--kpry57d (e.g.\nRegistrant of twnic<\/em>.tw is eligible to register twnic<\/em>.xn--kpry57d).\nThe existing ASCII<\/em>.tw should not have a serverHold status or be in the\ndomain dispute resolution process. The eligible domain is ASCII<\/em>.tw only\nand this doesn’t include IDN<\/em>.tw. Any ASCII<\/em>.tw registered before\nthe end of Grandfather Phase are eligible to secure matching .xn--kpry57d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that CSC\u2019s order Cut-off\ndate is 6-Jan-2020 (EST). The registration orders need to be submitted before\nthis date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dot Gay Ready to Show Its Pride<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top Level Design, an established\nregistry with other TLDs already available, announced the upcoming launch of\n.gay. The TLD aims to \u201cbring together the world\u2019s most proactive and vocal\nbrands interested in equal representation and LGBTQ advocacy.\u201d The use of .gay\ndomains for anti-LGBTQ content, or to malign\/harm LGBTQ individuals or groups,\nis strictly prohibited. In addition to providing a safe and advocacy-based\nspace, the registry will donate a portion of revenue from domain registrations\nto LGBTQ nonprofits. Two Sunrise Phases will be offered for .gay. The first\nsunrise will follow the traditional sunrise phase format for trademark holders\nwith a TMCH filing beginning February 10, 2020, and run through March 31, 2020.\nA second sunrise phase will follow for brands that wish to register, but do not\nhave a corresponding TMCH filed mark. Sunrise II runs from April 6, 2020, until\nMay 6, 2020.  An Early Access Program phase beginning May 11, 2020, leads\ninto General Availability on May 20, 2020.  All phases will be first-come,\nfirst-served, and the registry will observe a brief quiet period in between\neach phase. CSC is collecting specific phase requirements, and we will\ncommunicate these additional details as the information becomes available.\nPlease contact your Client Service Partner with questions or to express\ninterest in the launch.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
