The U.S. Patent and Trademark<\/a> Office (USPTO) will hold this year’s National Trademark Expo in Alexandria, Virginia, it has been announced.<\/p>\n

Scheduled to take place on October 14 and 15, the event is designed to educate the public about the value of trademarks in the global marketplace.<\/p>\n

A variety of exhibitors will converge on USPTO’s headquarters to showcase their trademarks through educational stands and presentations.<\/p>\n

Two key themes of the 2011 expo will be “Unusual Trademarks” and “Evolution of Marks,” with workshops on the topics running over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Organizations wishing to participate in the National Trademark Expo — specifically those with federally-registered trademarks — must submit an application to USPTO by June 15 as space is limited.<\/p>\n

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of brand recognition, the educational value of the proposed exhibit and category diversity.<\/p>\n

Successful bidders will be notified by July 15 and invited to confirm their attendance at the show.<\/p>\n

The USPTO advises the U.S. government on intellectual property (IP) policy, protection, and enforcement. In addition, the agency promotes stronger and more effective IP protection around the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
