Top-Level .ar\nDomain Launch Delayed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The registry for .ar domains, NIC.AR, announced the\npostponement of General Availability for the launch of top-level .ar. The\nregistry experienced technical issues processing payments for the recently\nconcluded Limited Registration phase\u2019s applications. The Limited Registration\nphase remains closed. The phase ended January 27, 2020. No dates of when\nGeneral Availability would resume were announced, but the registry believes the\npostponement may last over a month. CSC is working closely with our partners in\nthe region for the latest updates. CSC will communicate these updates as new\ninformation becomes available. If you have any questions, please contact your\nClient Service Partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compare and Select\nYour New Domains<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neustar registry announced plans to launch two previously\nclosed gTLDs, .compare and .select. Both TLDs will include a Sunrise phase for\ntrademark holders beginning April 6, 2020. The TLD will then release for\nGeneral Availability on May 6, 2020. CSC is still collecting launch details and\nrequirements. Additional information will be communicated as it becomes\navailable. Please contact your Client Service Partner if you are interested in\neither launch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brexit\nHas Arrived for .EU Domains<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Kingdom approved a\nWithdrawal Agreement with the European Union in the wake of Brexit. This move\ntook effect at midnight (CET) on January 31, 2020. As part of the agreement,\nthe UK and EU will enter into a transition period that lasts until the end of\nthe calendar year \u2013 December 31, 2020. This date may be extended by any future\nagreements that enter into force. During the transition period, UK residents\nmay continue to hold and register .eu domain names. After the transition\nperiod, the .eu registry will commence their action plan to withdraw and delete\ndomains that remain registered with noncompliant registrant contacts (i.e., UK\naddresses). The registry has not yet announced updated timelines for withdrawal\nand deletion. CSC will continue to monitor and communicate registry updates as\nnew information is released. CSC remains available to help navigate these\nchanges and maintain compliance with the registry. Please contact your Client\nService Partner with any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
