The .AI ccTLD, delegated to the island of Anguilla, is becoming more commonly associated with artificial intelligence and technology-related industries. Google recently announced that .AI will be treated as a generic TLD recognizing its significance to brands in the AI industry. Therefore, it may be a good fit for businesses or individuals that develop AI software, provide AI-related services, or conduct research in the field of AI. There has been a significant amount of media coverage recently about the potential use of AI for fraud in the future. Premium and Reserved Domain Releases
.BZ Registry is preparing to release over 1400 .CO.BZ reserved names on July 1, 2023 at 0900 EST. .BZ is the ccTLD for Belize. The .BZ registry had these domains reserved since the launch of .CO.BZ subzone and has now decided to release them for sale. A full list of names is available here.
Identity Digital has announced they will be releasing a number of their reserved domains 11-Jul-2023. The bulk of this release is made up of valuable short (1, 2 & 3 character) domain names across various Identity Digital TLDs. Most notably, the registry are releasing short character premium domains on .PRO, for the first time. In addition to the introduction of premium names for .PRO, Identity Digital will be releasing in-excess of 100,000 currently reserved domain names for general sale. On release, these previously reserved domains will be subject to claims for 90 days, in accordance with ICANN Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) requirements, as these domains were not made previously available during Sunrise. Registrars will need to pass the claims notice to Registrants and the Claims ID to the Registry. EAP pricing schedule will apply. .MY Relaxes registration rules
The Malaysian Registry (MYNIC) has announced that they are removing restrictions on their top-level extension .MY. A local, Malaysian presence will no longer be required to register under this extension. This change means that anyone can register a .MY domain on a first-come, first-served basis. Second level extensions like .com.my will continue to be limited to Malaysian entities. If you are interested securing a domain in the top level .MY, please contact your Client Service Partner.
