The New CISO Outlook 2025: What 300 Global Security Leaders are Prioritizing Now

The pressure on chief information security officers (CISOs) has never been greater.

In our newly released CISO Outlook 2025, CSC surveyed 300 CISOs, chief information officers (CIOs), and senior IT professionals from around the world to understand how cybersecurity leaders are responding to today’s most urgent risks. These range from advanced domain threats and compliance challenges to the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on both sides of the security equation.

This year’s report offers a global snapshot of data revealing what’s keeping security leaders up at night and where they’re focusing their resources for the year ahead. It also includes firsthand insights from CSC experts—including Mark Eggleston, CSC’s own CISO—on how enterprise security teams can better prepare for a fast-evolving threat landscape.

Here are just three of the findings from the report:

  • 98% of CISOs believe cybersecurity risks will rise over the next three years
  • 87% say AI-powered domain generation algorithms (DGAs) pose a serious threat
  • Only 9% are fully compliant with The Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2)

Whether you’re in the C-suite, part of a security team, or responsible for protecting your organization’s digital assets, this report provides critical context for what’s coming—and what you can do about it.
