The validity period for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates is set to shrink over the coming years. The first reduction came into effect on March 15, 2026, bringing maximum validity down from one year to 200 days. The next phase arrives on March 15, 2027, when life cycles fall to 100 days.
